2009 FARM & FOOD CALENDAR

Honor Our Bounty: Farm-To-Table Calendar Celebrates the Region’s Farmers and Restaurateurs

From wild greens to artisan meats, 2009 calendar recounts the regions most dynamic farm and food scene.

The Regional Farm and Food Project (RFFP) announced the release of its 2nd Annual 2009 Farm-to-Table Calendar. The calendar features brilliant agricultural photography of local farms/farmers with recipes provided by the region's most revered chefs.

Photographers, Dietrich Gehring, Jason Houston and Nate Simms, donated their time, resources, and talent to capture images of twelve farms that are an intimate part of our regional food shed. "The featured farms provide food to our local restaurants, grocers, farmers' markets, and the community at-large," states Liz Lukowski, RFFP Board Member. "When we buy food from our local farms we are supporting our local economy, protecting our environment, and saving our farmland."

Printed on heavy, recycled paper, copies of the vibrant calendar are available at participating restaurants, grocers, and farmers markets throughout the region for $10. The calendar is free with a RFFP membership donation of $50 or more.

Sponsorship was generously provided by NYSERDA, Honest Weight Food Coop, and the Troy Waterfront Farmers' Market. Additional support was provided by Pride of New York and Billie Best.

Join the Regional Farm & Food Project by making a donation. Your contribution will preserve local farms and improve our food security by building our regional capacity to produce more local food.
